The Grand Miracle
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” John 1:14
Reflect
The Word, the Logos, the Reason, the Logic, That which is behind and fundamental to all things, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe and of you and me, reduced Himself to that to which powerful people throughout all of human history have attributed no worth, a person of no value in eyes of the power structures of the day. God took on the life of disposable humanity for that very reason, that they (we) are often viewed as disposable. But we are not. We matter to God. We have been created to be eternal. So God took on human flesh.
Can you think of a better way to tell someone they matter to you, than to sell your home and to move into their neighborhood, impoverished though it may be, simply to be there and to do life with them?
Prayer
“Lord as I begin to “get” what You did, I begin to experience the fresh, cool breeze of humility. But I also begin to taste responsibility, the call to leave the comfort of my “home” and to “move into” the world of those who need you. Amen”
A Great Investment
Purchase your own 30 pack of More Than a Carpenter, store it in your car and throughout this year find ways to offer them to other people, simply telling that it helped you break through some barriers and you would love them to check it out too, perhaps even saying you’d love to hear their feedback!
