Read   When You Encounter Someone What Do You See?

“don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due . . . . .

What gives you the right to make such a judgment? What do you have that God hasn’t given you? And if everything you have is from God, why boast as though it were not a gift? 1 Corinthians 4:5-7 (NLT)

Reflect

Do you make premature judgments of others? Relative to what do you evaluate them?Relative to you? To your expectations? To what they once were? To what they are not?

Comments

The Corinthians were arguing, complaining and being critical of others. Sound familiar? Here’s a simple but profound thought. What do you have that has not been given to you? What about you is there that is not gift? If you think this
through until you realize you are not self made, you will have come far in humility, the prerequisite for eliminating judgmentalism.

Pray

“Lord, I proclaim now and forever that my life is ALL GIFT. There is nothing, absolutely nothing about which I can boast. It’s all gift and it’s all from You. Amen”

  1. I find the easiest way to prevent prejudging anyone is to say " all God's children". Everyone I meet is viewed by God as a "child of God". If you remember that and keep that thought in mind then you can't judge anyone. The two thoughts can't coexist.
