Blog » Asking the Hard Questions, Part 3
Thursday, June 20, 2013 Nick Cirino

Did you have time to write out Philippians 2 yesterday and ask some questions? If not, would you have time to today?

Use the “comment” link below to post one the questions you wrote down, whether it’s simple or profound. Both are great!

Here’s my question:

Verse 2. What does it mean to be “of the same mind?”

Here's my question: what does it mean to "work out your own salvation"? And how do you do that "with fear and trembling"? Fear of what? Trembling at what? All in verse 12 . . .

Excellent questions! I want to try to tackle those exact questions in the sermon on 6/30.

My question is from verse 3. You are to consider others better than yourselves.....Who do we consider better? Are we not all made in the image of God. My thought was that we are all equal in the eyes of God.

    1. Better in this sense, does not denote hierarchy but standard. In one's consideration, that consideration should be for the benefit of others more than the benefit on oneself. Christ gave us this example to follow in laying down his life for us. . .
