“Ordinary
people have the power to change other people’s lives”

"I
also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for
us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the
dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly
realms."
Ephesians 1:19-20 (NLT)
That
power is found in two things:
believing that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead exists in
you and then in releasing that power simply by connecting with a few others.
It is through connecting with others in simple but profound ways that
others are changed and healed by the resurrecting power of Jesus.
What
does that look like?
When you delight in another, believe that God is up to something good in
his or her life, when you listen—actually listen to their words and to the
heart behind the words, when you follow up with them, care about their life now
and their eternal destiny . . . . when these things happen you are then a
conduit of God’s love and power.
When the Spirit of God within you connects another believer something
good and healing is evoked.
When this happens with an unbeliever God works to awaken the as of you
unawakened image of God in them.
These are the most powerful connections in the world.
Do
not be a moralizer. Do
not be a psychologist. Do not play doctor by diagnosing.
Do not play therapist with feel good words that are surface only.
Simply connect.
When you do, God is at work.
You
are a powerful person.
Be a steward of that incredible gift.
