“ So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.   We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. Through him you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God lives by his Spirit”  Ephesians 2:19-22 (NLT)

The most powerful and beautiful thing in the world is the Church, the Body of Christ.

My family consisting of Kathy and me,  five children, three daughters in law, and five grandchildren are fifteen very different people.   15 different ages, levels of maturity, talents, personalities, points of view, desires, hopes and dreams.   Yet each knows he or she belongs.   How is that so?   Each was born into it, adopted into it, or married into it.    We’re family and nothing can change that.    Family gatherings are huge.   When one is missing that one is missed.  That one matters.    Those of us who were born or adopted into the family had no choice,  those who married into the family did have a choice.

Yes, on the one hand each of us either opts into or opts out of the Church, the world-wide Body/Family of Christ.  But it’s also true that every single believer was chosen and put there by God and God will not let them go.  God has joined them together and it’s a forever  family and each member of God’s family is being made into part of God’s Holy Temple, imperfections included.   Your forever family is permanent.    Maybe the most beautiful thing of all is when your temporal family is transformed into your core eternal family.   That’s special beyond words.
