“you should each examine yourself first, and then eat the bread and drink from the cup”
1 Corinthians 11:28 (TEV)

John Ortberg, a pastor I respect tremendously, and a pastor who is very well versed in helping people examine their inner lives before God, recommended this 14 day exercise.   It might be a good way to help you  “examine yourself” as you proceed through your fast.    www.soulpulse.org

Here’s how it works:

TRACK YOUR EXPERIENCES:    You will receive two brief surveys (3-5 minutes each) every day for fourteen days. They will be sent to your smartphone, and you'll report what's going on in your life at that moment . . . things like spiritual awareness, feeling thankful, what you're thinking of others - even how well you slept the night before.

LEARN ABOUT YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE :   After the fourteen days, we'll create an animated, interactive report for you. It will plot your experiences during the study to show you patterns and connections in your life. For example, when do you feel most joyful and loving? Which daily activities foster your spiritual awareness?

GROW YOURSELF, GROW OTHERS:    From your report, you will learn things about your spiritual life that will help you to improve it - like habits to work on or activities to change. Also, the information that you give us will be used to learn more about what makes for a strong, healthy spiritual life for everyone.
