What is a “Circle Four” Church?

A “Circle Four” Church is one comprised of “Circle Four” Believers.
These Christians believe that God created a good world and that something has gone wrong with it.  They believe that God entered the sin and brokenness of our world, died at its hand, but rose from the dead leaving the world with the promise that what God did for Jesus, He will do for the world and for us if we believe.   This kind of Christian then lives the daily rhythm of connecting with Jesus and out of that connection they enter the world as his hands and feet to bring healing to their world, anticipating Jesus’ return when He will make all things new.
This kind of Believer lives his days out of his connection with Jesus, a relationship that is quite different from “squeezing” God into my schedule.  Therefore . . . . .

ON ASH WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18, WE WILL BEGIN AN

ALL CHURCH “FAST”

We will seek to learn, relearn or strengthen the habitual practice of Daniel, the practice of the presence of God in his life which enabled him live his life’s purpose especially  in the most difficult of times.

“When Daniel learned (of the threat to his life) he went home and knelt down as usual
. . . .      He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God."                                                            Daniel 6:10 (NLT)

How to Choose Your Fast (replacing something with stopping, silence, scripture and Sabbath)

1.  Daily Times with God (preferably 2x, morning and midday) with God beginning with two minutes of silence, reading and reflecting on scripture, a devotional reading, asking God’s help to live your day “out of” your relationship with Him.  BUT do not become legalistic!!!  Don’t condemn yourself if you overlook your time with God.   Just begin again later.   Also don’t be legalistic with time.   Even if the whole thing is only a few minutes that time will still be hugely important!

2.  A Weekly Sabbath   Choose one day each week and for at least part of it, stop, rest, delight in something, and reflect on your life with God and others.   Read and reflect on some scripture, preferably the Gospels.   Even if it’s only a small part of one day, make room for God.   Turn off the electronics (you probably won’t die) talk a walk, read a book, play a game, go fishing, play legos with your children, delight in God’s great creation and above all be grateful.

START  WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!
