Last
week I received an email from one of our church family offering to make
a meal for the small group that I lead on Wednesday evenings.
I told her that the group is sometimes only one other person and
I, but that didn’t deter her. She
knew how much I struggle with figuring out how to get a meal ready so
she offered. In the
subject line of her email she had written, “I like giving”.
Really cool.
Simple, yet so helpful and
so appreciated by the two of us who ate her meal!
I’m
hoping that each of you purchase and read the above the book which is
available in the lobby Sunday mornings and during the week.
It’s really very simple, very profound and very motivating all
at the same time. Remember
that when you buy a book $3 of the $15 will go towards the Give
Bikes Challenge.
With
the money collected by July 27th (via book purchase or
donations) we’ll purchase bikes and then in the August 3 we’ll
randomly select “givers” who will be given the gift of being able to
give the bikes to someone who needs one!
The challenge is simply to find the need, present the bike and
enjoy your moment of simple giving, no strings attached.
Can’t wait to see who among you get to be the “givers”!
