More to the Story, Chapter 6
WANDERING
“The Israelites stood around their tents complaining. Moses heard them and was upset that they had made the LORD angry. He prayed:
“I am your servant, LORD, so why are you doing this to me? What have I done to deserve this? You've made me responsible for all these people, but they're not my children. You told me to nurse them along and to carry them to the land you promised their ancestors. They keep whining for meat, but where can I get meat for them? This job is too much for me. How can I take care of all these people by myself? If this is the way you're going to treat me, just kill me now and end my miserable life!" Numbers 11:10-15(CEV)
What are the differences and similarities between the people Moses is leading, Moses himself as expressed in his prayer and the cowboys at this link?

Too funny! Think herding the cats was easier than it was for Moses to take the Israelites to the promised land. In a small way, I can understand part of the trouble Moses experienced when I think back about trying to please 3 kids with different tastes, likes, dislikes and personalities. I made the mistake in asking them what they wanted for dinner. yeah! Never the same answer was shared by any of them. I learned to stop asking them and just make dinner and that was not usually met with a thankful heart towards me in making something one didn't like. So can you imagine multiplying the responibility and tasks which Moses had on his plate in keeping a community together, moving together, and being obedient and thankful towards God? I do wonder if we would respond the same today if God approached one of us to do the same. HA! Well, Pastor Jeff, your name just popped into my head. I guess you can understand that challenge as well. Seen any burning bushes lately?
